Tutor For Hire

Hey! I’m Michael Bruffee. I have extensive experience working with middle and high school students in English Language Arts, Science, and History / Social Studies. In the 2013-2014 school year, I served with City Year Boston, an AmeriCorps program in which young people serve as in-school tutors for students at risk for dropping out of school. I worked with a focus-group of 7 students, and helped them raise their grades significantly by the end of the school year.

Since then, living in Brooklyn, NY, I’ve worked with several young students, between 5th and 10th grades.

My specialities are writing, critical reading skills, and executive functioning.

I grew up with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), and so I know what it is like to be a young person struggling in school with a Learning Disability.
